Wonderful photo - I especially love the unsaturated colours and high contrast which combine to make the scene feel more wind-swept and rugged. Reminiscent of Scotland only with less hills.

Covent Garden Buskers

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I had no idea that this photo would garner so much appreciation. In fact I took 3 or 4 photos of these guys and this was definitely my favourite because it showed the way they played *together*. It's that interaction between the two that I wanted. The crop is almost exactly how it came out of the camera and I was far more interested in the subjects than the surrounding scene. As for the sepia - there was a need to remove some of the distracting clothing colours from the audience but I also felt that the duotone (which I just warmed up a touch with some yellow-orange) made the shot seem crisper as well as allowing me to push the contrast up a touch (which is my usual preference).
