Quite a lovely rose you have here. Though the color is so soft that I think I would have preferred it in black and white. Very nice, in either case.

Wow, I agree with Kiwiness. You have one of the most even distribution curves with this pic that I have ever seen on this site...

That should tell you something. Namely that the photo itself and its relevence to the challenge is quite good, but that the subject matter was found distasteful by many.

I like the pic quite a bit, especially the toning. But then, I didn't vote this challenge.

Ok, for those that wish to know how this was done, here goes... It's really nothing more than a pimped out version of an old parlour trick. The one where you take a lighter and roll the wheel slowly so as not to ignite the flint, then tap the flint onto a flame or other heat source and it will "explode" in midair like you see here. It took me over 50 frames to get everything right. 1/2 second exposures made the timing rather tricky.
