Nice composition and I love the "hairiness". Personally, would have liked it more if the two lighter leaves in the background weren't there; they distract a little. But to remove them, would have violated the rules of submission.

Not sure what is damp here. It all looks parched dry. The object in the center is obviously the focal point but I can't figure out what it is and what it is supposed to do there.

The bright yellow leads my eye right out of the picture. Seems to me the bottom center yellow pepper has been cropped too much; might have been better if it had been shown whole. The visual interest for me is on the artichokes but everything else is pulling my eyes away from them.

Even though you cleverly called it the texture of fog, all the emphasis and action is on the dog and the foam near the beach. Originality: average. Technical: good. Emotional impact: average. Meeting subject challenge: so-so. Overall, a pleasant img though.

Most of all I like the composition and the cropping. The red of the melon makes the eye wander off the page but they are held there by the fingers. Very effective. Nice idea of textures too (see the freckles as another texture). Particularly like the sunlight on the lashes of the left eye. Titles are not that important to me but I was wondering about the smile in the title. The subject of the pic doesn't seem to smile but is looking dead serious. Nice, technically good img.

They almost look like oily coffee beans. I like this picture. The difference in sizes and the wonderful reflections keep enough interest into this picture and prevent it from being monotonous. Also like those very subtle color gradations.
