Clouds are closer than they appear

This doesn't do much for me, probably because i have seen pictures from the side mirror a number of times now and once the novelty has worn off, there isn't all that much interesting to look at. 5 Journey

Shelter From the Storm

This is such a cool image. Of all the pictures i have seen so far, it describes "weather" the best. I love all the distortions and i just FEEL this rotten weather and this storm right here at my monitor. Good choice to do this image in B&W as it underscores the nasty weather. I'll revisit this image lateron before voting ends. 8 Journey

Evening Weather Report for UT, Austin: Beautiful!

The title says beautiful but this picture does not come across as such to me. Too much of a good thing is sometimes ugly. And in this picture there is way too much. As a result, the sky looks a little garish; that "sunburst" looks so Photoshoppy (i know it isn't) phony that it bugs the heck out of me. The thing i find most disturbing of all is the fountain spouting water (the right word for it escapes me right now). It is so sinister-looking that it reminds me of Anthony Perkins in Psycho when he came dashing into the shower. In fact, the only reason I could "read" that sinister shape was because of the water on the lower left, which is really lovely the way it catches the light.
Now, without the fountain and without the sunburst, a picture of just the sunset and the silhouette of the buildings with the interesting silhouettes of the towers would have been such a terrific shot. THEN, that sunset would have looked indeed beautiful and a pleasure to behold. 5 Journey

Nice, nice image. Love the drama of it all. It reminds me of a famous photograph and for the world of it, i cannot come up with its name or photographer :( 8 Journey

Nice image. The shape of the ice reminds me of shark teeth :) Nice detail in the rocks and the movement of the water is lovely. 8 Journey

The state of the wall/building is probably more due to 50 years or more of shitty maintenance but i will take your word for it :) Nice composition. The blah color of the sky doesn't help the image but it helps you meeting the challenge :) 6 Journey

This is certainly intriguing. Love the details of textures and the incredibly vivid splashes of colors that are accentuated all the more by the prevailing darkness. Would have cropped off more of the top, it is a little too dark and non-descript there. 8 Journey

This is a beautiful image. Lovely composition. I am strongly getting the impression though that it has been enhanced by something like Neatimage. If so, i would be less impressed because personally i find Neatimage (even though it's fully legit) on a par with heavy Photoshop editing, that is not allowed. 8 Journey

Nice moody and lonely image. Very forlorn. I like it. Because of the lack of contrast, it's all rather flat but that was the aim, right? :) Good composition. Nicely framed by the tree. 7 Journey

Even though i am very patriotic, i find this image rather boring and unoriginal. It doesn't even invoke any emotions in me. 5 Journey
