Red Rock Jeep Adventures by JPRComment: Originally posted by JPR: Originally posted by theMilkMan: YES I DO THINK IT WOULD BE A BETTER PHOTO WITHOUT THE JEEP IN IT. WITH THE JEEP IN IT, THE IMAGE BECOMES AN ADVERTISEMENT, AND HAS THE AURA OF THE ADS YOU SEE FOR JEEPS IN MAGAZINES. YOU THINK YOUR IMAGE IS BETTER WITH THE JEEP IN IT BECAUSE YOU'VE SEEN PROFESSIONAL SHOTS IN ADVERTISEMENTS AND ON TELEVISION THAT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE ABOVE. ALSO, I FEEL THAT A PERSON WHO WOULD CONNECT MORE WITH A JEEP THAN THEY WOULD A PERSON TO BE AN EXTREMELY SHALLOW PERSON. but whatever you're into. you seem to know what people will vote up, and i guess i'm the only one who has a problem with what this image represents. |
No need to yell. My point was only that from a photographic point of view I felt as if the shot needed a focal spot (the jeep). I admitted that a person would have worked as well. I feel as if the photograph would have been empty without something there. I understand that you are against advertisement. I enjoyed my time in the jeep and had no problem portraying that. I don't personally sell jeeps but I don't have a problem with anyone that does. Sorry to upset you. |
This person has, obviously, never been to Sedona. Once you get up into the rocks, you see tour Jeeps everywhere. They're as common as cacti are in the valley. I'm just glad the one in your photo wasn't one of the pink ones! :)) :)) ;)
I think the Jeep is a PERFECT addition to this shot. It only looks like an "ad" to those who see it that way for lack of experience. |

pizzazz by ursulaComment: VERY NICE!!! Wonderful color, lighting & DOF control. Only thing I see that detracts is the parting line on the vase. A few degrees' rotation (clockwise, of the vase, alone) would have solved this. Otherwise, SUPERB! Message edited by author 2006-01-16 06:49:25. |

Omlette with Lox Feta and Spinachby _eugComment: Bloody Marys for breakfast? What tie do we eat? :))
Beautiful! Maybe balance the composition a little more by moving the (raw) eggs off the cutting board and into that lonely, dark upper right corner and spreading the ramekins out a bit. |

Pork Chop Thursdaysby MidnightVoodooComment: Watch that date stamp - no text allowed - see rules...
Must be new math - that "pork chop" looks an awful lot like an onion! :))
Seriously - the overall focus is pretty bad. Is that a contact lens to the right of the pork chop, er, onion? |

Portrait of an Artistby NeilComment: Neil,
Unfortunately, I only just now saw this picture. Had I seen it during the challenge, it would have been at least a 9!
This is a truly stunning work! (It's taken me about ten minutes to write this message because I keep scrolling up for another look!) This piece could easily grace the wall of ANY gallery.
Please keep up the SUPERB work and give us MORE! |

When will YOU submit something so we can all see what is "original", "impressive" and "technically superior"? Message edited by author 2006-01-05 06:44:55. |
