Angel's flightby catpixelComment: Critique club... slightly delayed
I see an angel statue in silhouette, a bird in silhouette, some trees in the background, some buildings in the distance, and a blue sky.
Silhouettes can be very powerful images if done correctly. What could have been done to improve this image:
1. try to find an angle that eliminates some of the distracting background elements... or at least if they can't be eliminated try to minimalize them.. make sure they're not interfering with the statue.
2. I would have tried a more dramatic angle. Maybe from a lower angle, or from a really high angle. Try not to take all your images at human level. Pretend you're a bug. Pretend you're a bird. What would they see?
Try this one time. I see you've centered the sun behind the statue to create the silhouette. Great idea! Now try having the sun peak over an edge somewhere... So you see part of it. if it's done right you'll end up with a pretty silhouette AND a star shape where the sun is visible! |

Minor Sunrise in a Major Keyby inspzilComment: Critique club (sorry for the delay!)
I see a sunrise/set with a warm sky and a tree. The sun has an interesting shape with a flattened look on the top. I'm a little disappointed with the tree because it's this big black blob that lacks a certain shape for it to be helpful in the image. There are nice whispy clouds around the sun that add some drama to the image. I dont like the green at the top of the image... This tells me it should have been more blue and you've either done too much post processing, or you didn't adjust the white balance.
I would suggest to crop out some of the black at the bottom of the frame. There's too much of it (about 1/3 of the image is just blackness) and the image would be more powerful with less of it. Overall it's a fair image of a sunset.. nothing boring, nothing spectacular. |

Moose Crossingby mariomelComment: I'd be willing to bet most people dont get this. That's Moosehead beer right? Yum. The only beer... Canadian beer :) Might improve the shot a bit if you cropped out the bottom part and focused on the motion. 9 |

All Fall Downby KonadorComment: did you try any shots from above? I would have liked to see a few rows maybe at different stages of falling down... Its a nice picture.. maybe make the dominoes appear more white (in your editing program) might help them pop out a bit more. Good idea! :) 8 |
