Thanks for the votes and comments folks...

For the people who mentioned it, this is actually in colour...

I'll post a 'how I did it' later on tonight, when I manage to get the grin off my face. :-)

Cheers, Me.

Nice portrait....

This is nicely exposed, and the skin tone are great.

I find the fingers a little distracting, as they are lighter than the arm and face. Also the dirtry nails are a little annoying, as you've gone to so much trouble with the face makeup. How did this look withou the hand showing, just the head resting on her shoulder? It might not have workedso well.

Well done... 8

Not a fan of the blurred border, but I really like this image...

In the use of your editing, and the original lighting conditions you've given the statue a downtrodden feel that works really well with your title.

I hope people vote for this image based on the image, and not on the religeous issues. 8

Back to comment... I really like this shot. And an intersting title you've chosen as well.

The composition is great, and the negative space really lifts the image when you consider your title.

The only distraction I find is the complex strap/clothing on her shoulder. The rest of the image is so gentle, quite almost, and that item is very fiddly and detailed.

Well taken.. 9

This is a really different point of view, and the exposure is bang on. My only gripe would be that it needs a bit of slective sharpening on the eye.. I know you're title is nostalgic, and one might thing that older photos didn't look tack sharp, but I htink it'd help the image quite a bit..

Still an interesting shot... 7
