Montreal Biosphereby pidgeComment: Wonderful colours you've captured here Kiyoko! What an amazing subject to capture. I've never seen anything like that (except in movies). Maybe just to crop off the far right factory or whatever it may be there IMO. Great photo. Well done! |

_MG_7164-01edit.jpgby pidgeComment: What a fun photo! You've got a nice crop on this picture. The main thing that distracts me is the vignetting effect around the edges? Possibly lighting in the wrong position as it appears to darken down on the front of the jumper near the bottom too. Great idea Kiyoko! |

When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonadeby RebeccaComment: * Greetings from the Critique Club *
Interesting photo you have here Rebecca. I was reading your comments you made about the glare on the glass and yes, you've managed to avoid any distracting elements in that respect. I'm curious to know what type of lighting you used here?
The colours seem to all balance nicely and the only real blown highlight to me appears to be the sugar in the spoon. You've chosen a nice DOF to keep the focus nice and even throughout.
I'm a big fan of plain backgrounds in photos (check my portfolio) and you've done well in that respect with a nice contrast between to subject and the background. I'm guessing the reason for the middle of the road score was the subject matter trying to fit the challenge perhaps?
You've got some great work in your portfolio. Keep them coming. Well done!

Towards the Millby obsidianComment: This photo has so much potential. It's a shame about the log across the top foreground as it seems a little distracting. It'd be nice to do a little PP just to bring some of those colours out a little more and add a shade of contrast. Well done! |

Edith Cowan Universityby QikiComment: Ahh....the ugliest building in Perth!! :)
I used to work at Harvey Norman in Joondalup opposite this eyesore whilst it was being built and I thought it was only half completed when someone told me it was actually finished! Who approves things like this I wonder?
You've done well with the photo though. The lighting is spot on and you've chosen a good section of it to frame. Good stuff Adrian! |

I second that ;-)
I see plexiglass. Please tell us the light setup and background also. |
Thanks guys!
Hmmm....2 Bowens Esprit lights out front, one on each side with softboxes, to slaves at the background bounced off brollies. A sheet of perspex (plexiglass) on white roll of paper. |

Tiger jump - desatby ShutterPugComment: Desat is either something you love or hate it seems. I don't mind it and this is really well done. Love the tones you've got in the background. Well done! |

Breaking Freeby ShutterPugComment: This idea has worked really well. The moose stands out very nicely in the image. I'm surprised it didn't finish slightly higher in the voting. Great work Linda! |

Featherby igniteComment: Nice idea. Perhaps you could of off-centred it a little for a bit more impact. The shadow/reflection works really well. Great work. |
