Red Dirt, Green Grass - The Colors of Spring!by EarlBakerComment: It looks outside!! :)
The fence is a real distraction in this image. The contrast between the green grass and orange/red batters plate works really well for the challenge and you've avoided blowing highlights in the sky but it's just that fence. Maybe a different angle to shoot from may of helped up your score a bit. Keep it up! |

DPC Fashionby EarlBakerComment: This is a nice little portrait. The main thing that I don't like is the fact that her head is down which emphasises a slight double chin. If she had of been looking up a bit it would of worked a lot better. The other thing that would improve it would be just to adjust the contrast a little to make it pop out a bit. If you're using Photoshop you could use an adjustment layer with levels just to help that a bit and still be within the basic rules. Well done. |

Hunt failureby silviulComment: * Greetings from the Critique Club *
As mentioned by numerous people here, what an amazing photo to capture. A sort of once in a lifetime opportunity!
For my liking what affects it the most here is the crop you have used. There's a lot of wasted space to the lower left of the bird which is a bit unnecessary. I would of cropped more in on the bird and the snake to get better impact.
I also find that the overall picture just lacks a little contrast. It's missing the 'pop' to make it a real standout. The lighting is good and your focus isn't too bad considering the situation.
Good effort and best of luck in future challenges. Keep it up!

Real Women have Curvesby GKPhotosComment: I used to work with a belly dancer and yes, they do love their curves. I agree about the white balance though, it does appear to be incorrect and needs to be warmer. The other thing that hits me here is the sharpness of her face. It looks a bit soft because of the shutter speed but you've captured the sense of movement in her lower half which is good. It's hard to balance the two out. Don't be too discouraged by the score. Go out and take some more shots! :) |

Lonesome Pineby SJCarterComment: The tones you have used through this are a treat. The tree has so much character in it and it's great to see you use an excellent subject. And as mentioned, the grain effect works very well. Great stuff! |

Extreme Skiingby magnusComment: Aren't Lego characters great (have used them myself in a challenge). It's a shame there's not a little more lighting on the man as the rest of the photo is lit perfectly. Great work! |
