I don't see the "rusted" part of this - it looks like a proportion photo. That said, I think the DOF is off, I can't quite make out the foreground model plane so the impact is lost. The pixelation on the fingers is also very distracting. An interesting concept that could have been better executed.

An interesting subject. The composition is a little odd, by putting so much ground in the bottom of the frame - I think it would have benefitted from a slightly more diagonal positioning of the book as the binding of the book touching both edges of the frame just leads my eye off the photo.

Beautiful color, shadow and composition. I'm not keen on the border, but that may be be a personal thing.

Greetings from the Critque Club!

Composition: The placement of the ladybug and the horizon of the egg in the upper third really helps to bring this together visually. As I stated during the competition, I'd like to see more of the egg - the title is really the only thing that tells me that it is an egg, I don't know if it'd get that without it and I like the idea of the similarly shaped subjects.

Background: Good neutral background keeps our eyes on the subject.

Camera Work: (Focus/DOF/) the focus is just a little soft on the bug, I'd like to see the legs and head very crisp on this. DOF is spot on.

Post Processing: n/a

Appropriateness for the challenge: very - gives a sense of scale to both objects. More egg would help me.

My Opinion: A very nice shot, pleasing and with a sense of whimsy. The colors are wonderful. I've seen a lot of ladybugs that are more orange lately in my yard and they wouldn't have worked nearly as well as this wonderfully rich colored one.

I hope these comments are of use to you, please note that if you can. Feel free to PM me or leave a note here if you have any other comments.

Wonderful shot, full of the vastness of the desert and really captures the scale of the landscape compared the humans in the foreground. The position of the figures - with the rope from the camel leads my eye off to the left and not back into the frame. I love the textures and colors.

Very intriguing shot. I like the subject. I wonder about the composition, if it couldn't be improved with more of the pinky finger on the left. I like the color choice and balance. Highly original shot. Good work!

Lovely colors and composition. The shadow creates a wonderful comment on proportion and perspective.

wonderful contrasts of the white of the house with the white of the cows. I wish it was bigger so I could really see the details.

Lovely colors. I think the composition is a little off. The way the light hits the stem and the detail of the little hairs draws the eye away from the flower itself.

Fascinating catch. I wish the bird were in better focus.
