I don't see why this is extraoardinary. Maybe more context would help. For example, is this an extremely rare flower? We don't know. All we see is a flower pic with nothing extraordinary about it. A flower is really not a good choice for this challenge, no matter how well-done it is.

Without the title, all we see is a flower pic with nothing extraordinary about it. The background is a little distracting. Smaller DOF would help. But a flower is really not a good choice for this challenge, no matter how well-done it is.

focus looks perfect. placement of the faces looks strange. it looks like one guy has his nose in the other's hair, and the dark shadow on the 3rd guy's face hurts a lot. but overall this is a nice picture and very appropriate for this challenge

looks just a little overexposed. the dark outlines around the edge of the lightning looks unnatural. i'm not sure what it is though. for lightning that close, a good setting to use is 100 ISO and f/8. i don't like the wires/power lines going across the image, but I do like the way the lightning is nicely framed by the trees
