Ying Yangby YoodioComment: This is one of the photos that really makes this challenge difficult, so good it is a a real pearl! It might be interesting to see what type of reflections one could get, but I cannot think of what could be done to better this one. |

wrinkled clothby defrostedComment: Very appropriate title and subject, but the harsh lighting (blown out highlights) and unrelated distractions on the left detract from this shot. Perhaps a backdrop would be more nuetral. Fill flash might help give a more even lighting. |

Tree tulipby JonniboyComment: Lovely! This demonstrates what can be done with B&W. Good lighting |

The Lookby RemieComment: It appears that the B&W challenge has drawn out the creativity in people, very good! |

Smileby jhcrossComment: Another great baby face, good shot! You might try a higher f/stop to get rid of the background or just use a backdrop. Overall this is a great shot and should score well. |

Self Portraitby BambooChicaComment: Nice pose with just the right touch of softness. Good job. I do think you could tweak the levels a little bit brighter (using a histogram) and the large reflections in the eyes tends to mask them somewhat (IMO). |

back in the dayby connieComment: I gave a high score for originality and setup. I wish that her dress hadn't gotten blown out. I'm wondering if an 81A or B filter might have allowed the texture of the foilage to come through yet give just enough dynamic range to also get the dress. Overall, very good job! |

Ponderingby darylbrownComment: Good mood portrayal. You might try some additional, well positioned lighting could acentuate her face without loosing the mood. |

Snail on dead leafby chariotComment: Nice photo and an original idea that works well for B&W. What I might suggest, though somewhat reservedly, is a tough of light from the right and brush the little bit of dust from the shell and the leaf. Maybe a reflector would make an improvement, I don't know for sure about that. However, in my opinion this is already an excellent photo. |
