Father and Sonby basia03Comment: Interesting shot. B&W might had helped the mood of this shot, focusing more interest on the 2 figures instead of the surrounding colors. Just my opinion. I like that the framed photos of seemlingly silent/deserted streets in the background mimic the silence between the 2 men. Nice. :) |

Silence for Dummiesby jonpinkComment: Love the colors and bright lighting, makes for a punchy/high contrast pic. The drool was a nice added touch. ;) Somehow I'd imagine the infant owner of this freshly plucked pacifier would be anything BUT silent right about now. Nice shot, different, keep 'em coming. :) |

Silent Spudby snowflakeComment: I liked the idea behind the shot, better than seeing lots of photos of tape over people's mouths. A little extra time setting up the shot would have made for a stronger image (cut off shoe, background further away so as not to cast shadow directly behind spud, less light/more directional for more shadow and midtones on figure for improved modelling of shapes and details). Technical aspects can always be improved, it's the IDEAS that can't be taught...keep 'em comin'. :) |

"THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL"by mpradeepComment: OK, so maybe I don't have a Master's Degree in Psychology, but I'm at a total loss at what this has to do with silence or even it's hidden meaning! :) I'm sure the photographer had an idea of what he wanted to express, but it didn't translate well for this viewer. Too cerebral for me! |

Pin Dropby lizbeth010Comment: Good idea, but tough to pull off. Image looks pretty dark, not enough light being reflected by shiny metal needle... a larger light source or reflector next time? Would of been cool if you could have captured several rapid images of the needle falling/hitting floor. What I'm trying to say is that it looks more like a "still life" of a needle rather than the silence of a "pin dropping". Keep it up! |

She never speaks againby kinksComment: I like the color mixer effect here, although it begins to affect the hair as well. Pose/composition could be better for stronger impact (like seeing the woman's eyes better) As it stands, the blood seems to making most of the statement here, the blade almost seems like an afterthought. Certainly a morbid view of silence. |

Stillness in Whiteby boyte1Comment: Nice lighting. Rule of thirds would help the centrally located focal point. Wish I could have seen a bit more inside the flower, but I guess that would take away from the "white" theme. Nice colors and shallow DOF, but I'm not feeling a sense of 'silence" from this pic. Keep it up! :) |

Suspended in the Alpsby whatsinanameComment: Nice scenic shot. Would have been nice to include something in the foreground to display against the gorgeous mountain backdrop as a focal point to this shot. Keep it up! |

Silence: find it in the snowby AndyTekComment: It took a few moments to figure out that those were little cabins in the snow (soft focus). Wasn't quite sure what the focal point of the shot was. Cabins are kinda lost in this wide angle shot. Sharpest focus seems to be in the foreground trees lower right. Greater DOF to make entire scene the focal point of shot. Good potential. Keep it up! :) |
