Nail Polishby spydrComment: Har de har har. Clever idea. Crop off that distracting red thing at the lower left and rotate the image at an angle, and you'd probably score quite a bit higher. |

Blueberriesby Spanish_GreaseComment: ...and sawdust? I don't get it. I want to love this image, but the idea of food and dirt isn't very appealing. Original though, and good use of selective desaturation. |

Oleander 01by MousieComment: Lovely light quality. The out-of-focus left side is rather distracting- I'd just crop it off (maybe square). |

Beautiful Borage (Borago officinalis)by artvetComment: A nice macro with sharp focus and good color. Rotating the image to an angle or cropping off-center might make it a little more dynamic. I assume others have mentioned the unnecessary border. |

Purrfectly Petiteby soccerrocker1989Comment: This is a very tough image to score. It's totally hilarious, but there's zero context to imply that the cat is miniature in any way. Sure it's a kitten, but it's a normal-sized kitten. For any other challenge, if you cropped off the clutter at the top and a little dead space off the bottom, this would be a 10 from me. In this case, it's a 5... and a favorite. ;-) |

Drain Pipe Creatures by scalvertComment: Woohoo! This is fun! Thanks to all those who voted and commented. Glad you enjoyed it! I'm scoring well with every other entry these days, so I'm really looking forward to Miniature. ;-)
Every time I looked at the entries I saw the cover by kiwiness right on the first row of my screen, and I just knew that one was destined for the blue. There are probably only a handful of members even CAPABLE of taking a shot like that! Message edited by author 2004-08-03 18:28:59. |
