1by LevTComment: A bit overwhelming to walk through these colorful piñata markets. When shopping or browsing street markets we always get a little closer to the reality of the situation. Take away the carefully crafted packaging and slick advertising allows us to see behind the facade. We come away with a deeper understanding. The piñatas are a wonderful subject and you told the story well. This is the beauty of the photo essay where we see places and perspectives that can't be conveyed by a single image. |

flowers 2228-by Jules1xComment: Your essay reminds me of the community gardens in Washington, DC. Some plant flowers, others vegetables, or not much at all. Like you, I enjoy seeing what appears in the Spring as the show repeats every year. Enjoy your walks! |

my life of dreamsby jmritzComment: The importance of dreams in trying to make sense of it all. Your photography works well with dreams or your dreams come out in your photography. Lovely work John. |

Stranded in Byzantiumby posthumousComment: Another beautiful example of poetry and photography. I really enjoyed this journey through a single image.
I can't help but think about creating this essay in camera. Not that it matters just my own musing. |

fractured-1by 2mccsComment: So we both did travel essays for August. Mine is a traditional collection of images captured along the way. Yours, much more interesting than mine, seems to be about creativity more than air travel. You found a way to pass the time and in doing so created a beautiful essay. The warped and stretched reflections on the floor remind me of a funhouse of mirrors. |

tango.1by mariucaComment: Delightful with a surprise ending. Your tribute to the tango flows very naturally with nothing forced. Makes me want to listen to Libertango by Astor Piazzolla. Very nice! |

1by herfotomanComment: Glimmering, grainy, high contrast, black and white photographs make up the first half of your essay. This presentation simplifies and flattens your subjects. The second half, washed over by blue shade, takes us to another place. You leave us in the shadows where it's cool and lonely. I feel each image it's trying to communicate something but it's a language i don't understand. It's amazing how toning and presentation can change the feeling of a photograph. Cleverly done. Thanks |
