Another seaside sojourn, and I live more than 800 km from each of the beaches used. That must be worth the sympathy vote, or comment in this instance.

This was taken on a small stretch of beach in Strand [translated=beach]. By the way, it's Table Mountain in the background, just not the tourist side.

My mind really fixates on petty things, doesn't it? I immediately saw the possibilities of a sequence to investigate differences in the beautiful sculptures and patterns formed. I am constantly amazed that nature creates perfect variations on a theme under our noses, to last for one half of a moonspin.

I did do the cloudnaming thing, but left it in my mind so as not to block yours.

I do not know why I made the second set so dark blue. I do not like it like that, but I could not do it otherwise. Artistic vision I suppose. I did not really do much processing, they were bluish to begin with. Just exit after the mono's if your eyes are allergic to blue.

I particularly like the black and white set. O brave new world of seeing, I want to say. Yes, Virginia, there ARE force fields, I want to add. It conveys utter awe. The second/blue set is the sensuous version. Good on you, and thank you.

The fascinating shapes in stark black and white with the grainy sand texture are mesmerizing. I would print these and hang them on my wall so i could daydream to them. - like watching fish in an aquarium without the upkeep. I enjoyed the blue ones also but really love the black and white set.

Glimmering, grainy, high contrast, black and white photographs make up the first half of your essay. This presentation simplifies and flattens your subjects. The second half, washed over by blue shade, takes us to another place. You leave us in the shadows where it's cool and lonely. I feel each image it's trying to communicate something but it's a language i don't understand. It's amazing how toning and presentation can change the feeling of a photograph. Cleverly done. Thanks

beautiful. the extreme contrast brings out the major forms, then you show us the source of those forms with your almost unprocessed photos. The first half changes how we look at the second half. the power of the essay!
