Classically, far too dark. But, for me, it gains a really moody and arty feel. I think you were very brave to take the light so low, but I think it's a great shot. The image is a little bit soft, but nothing a little sharpening wouldn't put right. Fortunately, with such a dark image, there isn't too much that needs to be sharpened! A fabulous submission.

The brown frame really complements your hair and skin. The scene is a micro-dab too bright, but your framing and expression really make this a great shot. I totally love it. I am intrigued at your confident choice of clothing. I wonder if you are illustrating the "bad hair" message while working tirelessly on it in the bathroom?

I think the use of grain here is the very thing that makes it NOT a re-hash of the old self-photo. The excellent moody lighting adds yet more mood to that created by the sinister spectacles. The fingers on the camera have a nicely dynamic, but natural, position. For me, this picture comes together very nicely indeed.
