Nice swallowtail, but it would be better if you could get closer. The blurred foreground branches are distracing as well.

I'm not getting the branch part, and it looks more like a photo that would be in a family album then a photo that would be entered in a photo contest.

Not crisp enough. Did you take it handheld at a slow shutter? Also, the leaning branch on the left kinda of throws the whole photo off.

For a simple shot like this to work, it has to be perfect. The lighting on your palm and thing in the background (upper right) are too distracting.

The over exposed portion on the tree kills this shot. You could actually crop most of it out.

A little overexposed on the pepper. Also, I would have taken it from a higher angle to get rid of the top part of the background. It's a nice composition, but some other colors to contrast might yield better results.
