Wow! This is beautiful Charmayne!! I've been on vacation for a couple of weeks and have been a little out of the loop, so I just checked in to see what my favorite photographers have been up to. I really love this and can't for the life of me understand why it isn't one of the top photos in the whole bunch!!

I like the background and how it makes the subject stand out, but the subject lacks excitement for me.

Spruce?

Tip. To really bring out the blues, bury a whole mess of pennies in near the roots. Long term colour adjustment. Only really useful if this is at your house.

I like the subtle colours, however the slash of light on the left disrupts the even effect. Should have gone for one or the other, shadow or sunlight.

Nice shot. I really like the color of the branch. At first I found the bright background distracting, but it grew on me. Nice job!

8 - Really like the color capture and the texture in this, including the background. Very nice and 'pure'. Criticism; perhaps a little more 'balanced', or more empty space top right may have made this better, not sure. The same detail on the tip as is on the 'pod' and leaves, would be nice but may have been difficult. The little 'tips' of branches top left and the two 'white dots' back right, are a touch distracting and do detract, but not overly. Really like the colors and that you can see the branch clear enough under that dense foliage.

The bright areas in the background are really stealing attention away from the tree branch.

On my monitor, this is turquoise, not green. Did you intend this? It's hard to pick out the caterpillar (?) that seems to be the main interest in the picture.

Nice shot. I'd like to see it zoomed in more. I see that you were trying to incorporate the whole branch but I think I'd like to see a tighter shot of the budding pine cone. Good DOF
