Fields of Golden Dreamsby JamesDowningComment: This is a wonderfully composed photo. The light golden colour of the hill in contrast to the moody sky and foreground, combined with the upwards angle of the hill completely draws your eye in. The only odd thing seems to be the clouds, for whatever reason they look a little off to me. Did you process them a lot? |

The Lighthouse and the Paper Millby BAMartinComment: The composition is great. The sky looks wonderfully moody and the balance between the sky and the foreground in terms of exposure is really quite good. The sky might be blown a bit towards the top, but understandably so what a tricky light situation. |

T E Nby NeatComment: Great shot. His face is exposed perfectly and I love that your focus was on his eyes, but his focus was not directly at the lens. The sun on the hair is wonderful! |

Sin Tituloby epescalaComment: Great capture, I like the unusual position of the duck, but your metering is a little off. It's a shame the eye is so shadowed as that is naturally where your attention is drawn to most wildlife shots and speaking to this photograph specifically, the composition leads your eye there first. I can understand it's a tricky shot to meter as you have absolute blacks and almost absolute whites, however the bill or the lighter parts of the water would have been a good place to spot meter and then focus back on the eye. Tricky to do as quick as would have been needed to shoot a live animal though! |

Selasphorus Rufusby BeckyTComment: The colour in this photo is just stunning, the DOF and the detail on the bird near perfect. What a difficult photo to take and you have done it well. The angle and position of the bird is a little odd, but given the difficulty of shooting birds I can understand why. I think it is an interesting photo, and it definitely grabs your attention, partially because it is so unique. In this case the odd works for you! |

In the modality of Winterby prabjoComment: I find the colour cast on this photo to be really off putting. Not sure if this was done in processing, or in camera, but the colours are definitely off. The wood has a purple tone, the snow is too blue and the tree branches look unnaturally green. Is it possible you monitor is not calibrated correctly? Do you saturate this image? |

Connectedby HighNoonerComment: Great focus and composition. The only thing I find distracting is the shadows on the hands and her sweater. Adding just a little bit of under light, or some closer to your right side would have eliminated much of this strong shadowing. It distracts from her hands, and given that is where her focus is, it makes you look there first as well. |

Green tealsby snafflesComment: I'm curious as to why you chose to go the B&W route? I think the green on the wings would have been great to see in this shot. I also think as a B&W the overall exposure is a little too dark, the white on the wings leaps out at you because it is blown out, but the actual ducks sorta blend. |

Tongue of Fireby J-MeComment: I like the composition, the use of colour and light. The unfortunate detail for me is that it looks like your focus was more on the front foot area of the dragon and not so much on his head. A tricky shot because of the macro nature of it, but I would have focused on his eye, made that area sharp, and let the flame be a burst of light to the side as it is now. |

The Frozen Lakeby salmiakkiComment: There are some really interesting elements to this picture that cause your eye to roam around the image and take it all in. Between the tree silhouette, the people, the sun and the smoke tower, there is a lot going on. However, if you take any one of the four out, I think the picture would have a lot less impact. An unusual composition, but in this case I think it works. |
