This shot turned out so muted in tones naturally, that it barely looks any different in b/w. I was shooting into shadow as I panned after this small flock, who spent most of the morning harassing the lone female in their midst.

9 from me and I usually don't care for wildlife shots. Again, great tones.

It pains me to see technically more difficult BiF images so far down the order...screw that! I gave it a 7 and deservedly so.

Did you use AF-C and a selective Focus Point on the D90?

This is a remarkably good wildlife picture. The background has become an abstracted stave motif for the chord played by the ducks. It's a very musical photograph, and that's what's most remarkable about it - that it transcends the senses. Thank you.

Great BiF. Fighter Squadron 15. Odd choice the B&W possibly because they have so much colour in them and they would have disappeared in the greenery?

Nice shot. Love the black and white and that they almost disappear into the photo.

love the black and white treatment to this shot, the white on the wings provides a great contrast to the surroundings.

I'm curious as to why you chose to go the B&W route? I think the green on the wings would have been great to see in this shot. I also think as a B&W the overall exposure is a little too dark, the white on the wings leaps out at you because it is blown out, but the actual ducks sorta blend.
