I really enjoyed this photo. It was Escheresque to me in that, at first glance, I think I see the entire photo, and then, after looking for a few moments, the reality of the photo hits me, and I realize that all of my assumptions were wrong. Great job, and excellent subtlety.

The colors are unattractive, and the compression artifacts are terribly distracting. When you can see the artifacts in the thumbnail, you know you're in trouble. Although it is abstract at a smaller size, at 640x480 it's much too recognizeable to be an abstract, but still too abstract to be anything else. If you intended to emphasize the upwards curvature, a vertical composition would have helped. Neither thought nor effort seems to have been put into this photo.
