I have been one of those kinds of kids that was always fascinated with simple table magic. Here is my 2002 version of the old water glass trick.

Interesting pic! I like it! ;)

Strange, strange, strange. I'm wondering how you did the tea? with ice in the upside down wine glass.

Very, very clever. I love the lemon -- nice addition.

this one is a perfect shot.....lots of textures, colours
and an amazingly magic glass

Composition- IMO a little less stuff in this shot might have made it easier to isolate the subject. It is creative, but its distracting to me. Good use of ROT. Lots of texture. Background- The plants are distracting to me as is the glare of light in the upper right hand corner. Technical- good focus again the upper right is bothering me. The reflection of a person dressed in black in the glass is a wonderful touch. Overall Impression- Meets the challenge, I might have tried zooming in on the "subject" of this and used the other elements as a background. Its obvious you put a lot of work into this shot. Has some appeal on several levels.......6

very cool, one of my favorites so far. it has more to it than just the upside down factor to it.

Not entirely certain I understand the title, but I like the photo. The book on witchcraft is a nice addition. I considered adding a glass of ice like this to my shot, but decided it was an unnecessary addition. Glad to see someone did it though. My only comment would be light levels. I think this is a picture that begs to be dark and moody and that overexposed upper corner kind of takes away from that. (Even if you disagree about the dark and moody, I think you would agree that it's over-exposed.) Maybe a few more plants to block off a little of that light?

I like the lemon on the bottom of the top glass (does that make sense? ;o), overall, I think the photo is just a tad too busy, especially with the background still very recognizable and the blown-out sky.

Very creative, how you do dat?
05/16/2002 12:41:00 AM
I don't get the witches book and knife. It there something about Martha that I don't know?? Very nice photo, I like the lighting and color!
05/15/2002 11:39:00 AM
Sweet I like the upside down tea
05/15/2002 08:22:00 AM
ummm... wow. A little bit scarry... better give you a high score.. don't want you coming after me!
05/14/2002 10:46:00 PM
How'd you do that? :o)
I don't like having the window in the shot, and it seems a little too busy. Still, I'm scoring it pretty high because the upside down element is good.

I like this one! Very cool! Photo 10 Creativity 10 Upsidedown 10 total 10 (you really nailed this one!)
05/14/2002 03:10:00 PM
I love the way you have this photo set up. The title is great too.
05/14/2002 12:09:00 PM
Great idea. I especially like the top lemon slice.
05/14/2002 11:03:00 AM
Colors, composition, subject matter (so far as the glasses) i like.
Maybe a little too busy
05/14/2002 04:00:00 AM
Hmmm. Nicely composed, and the exposure up front is good. A lower angle might have let the rear candle flame show against the cloth, but would have complicated getting the wiccan whatnot to show. I guess I just can't see iced tea as belonging in this setting - maybe some dark red wine. Overexposure in URHC detracts.

Don't let Martha get hold of those books -- she has enough power already!
05/13/2002 10:11:00 PM
LOL, great use of props! I can see you like Martha Stewart very much ; )
05/13/2002 09:40:00 PM
Soooo.... close. Love the contrast of colors. Works well together. The lemons are the crowning touch in my opinion. Extremely tough photo with the extreme dynamic range in the exposure. Not sure how it could have been avoided, but I would have liked to have seen the exposure controlled on the bottom of the upper glass. With this said, I still rate the shot very high.
05/13/2002 06:50:00 PM
Haha very nice. Little bit-o cutting commentary never hurts either.
05/13/2002 05:24:00 PM
This is great... I love it.. it's one of my favorites this week... this photo has a nice 'mystery' to it and I can't say that I would do anything differently or change anything about it.... Excellent!! = 10
05/13/2002 05:11:00 PM
wooohoooo! kicks ass. funny as hell and well shot!
05/13/2002 04:55:00 PM
different, how did you do that
05/13/2002 04:16:00 PM
Love the witches bible thrown in there. Great pic.
05/13/2002 01:39:00 PM
hahahaha... great
05/13/2002 01:36:00 PM
ok.. so now you tell us how you did the tea thing.. :) Good shot
05/13/2002 01:32:00 PM
Creative idea. People will probably comment on the blown-out sky in the top right corner.
05/13/2002 01:15:00 PM
If this is real, it's awesome... great shots.
05/13/2002 12:20:00 PM
Well done! I am still trying to figure out how you did it. In my top 4.
05/13/2002 12:16:00 PM
very creative
05/13/2002 08:18:00 AM
It's cluttered...it would have been better if the upside down subject were easier to find at first glance. good idea though.
05/13/2002 08:12:00 AM
WAY clever! The trick with the tea is really nifty, but I especially love the knobby candles and the lurking dagger!
05/13/2002 07:43:00 AM
I would recommend this photograph for the "How did they do that" section.
05/13/2002 02:45:00 PM
Well that is KOOL!
Very creative and a good shot too.
Nice work!!
05/13/2002 05:49:00 AM
cool
05/13/2002 03:07:00 AM
I have got to know how you pulled this off!
05/13/2002 02:14:00 AM
Hehe, the implications of this photo are interesting, if I'm not reading too much into it. Is she really a witch? That makes so much sense.

It's beautifully lit and photographed, but kinda busy for me.
