I love the simplicity of this composition, and also the coloring. The illusion is clearly visible and thus meets the challenge. if there would be any changes I'd make, I'd make it a little lighter, with a touch more contrast, and perhaps increase the sharpness. This is pretty neat! I definetly get the impression that there are 4 hands. I think one of the reasons is that your lighting is so effective. How in the world you managed the light in the center is a mystery. Good job! And all those little bubbles? Looks like this was well thought out and executed. Congratulations!
The one thing I'd change here is the format. Portrait (vertical) rather than landscape (horizontal) would work better since the subject is vertical and the top of her head would be in the picture. All in all a good picture. Good luck! Grayce aka Gracious

Good idea, well executed. How about a cracklin' fire? LOL...just kidding. I think it's an amusing photo, but the rug isn't really necessary, and actually takes away from the realism. This is just my opinion, but I think the snail would stand out better away from the fireplace. Perhaps on the couch, or just on the bare floor. As far as composition, tilting the camera up a bit would have included the entire lamp without the top being cut off. The cushion in the front right corner serves no purpose and is out of focus.
On the up side....the lighting is good, showing a fair amount of detail. Dpth of field works fine, once the afore mentioned cushion is gone. Watch your angles...the fireplace and lamp are tilted.
I'd like to see this with a few changes. The idea is good, just pay attention to details. I sincerely hope this is a help. Good luck in the challenge. Grayce aka Gracious

The one strong element I see here is the coloring. Wonderful! I have no way of knowing what is an illusion here though since there are no real clues that I can see. On one hand that can be very good, if the illusion is so good that I can't tell it is an illusion.
The composition would be better, I think, if the pretty little red tree were not quite centered. Of course that's just my own opinion. Anyway, this sure does reflect the season. Good luck in the challenge. Grayce aka Gracious
