The Nuclear Familyby GekkerComment: Very cute! The shadow on the cat's face is a drawback technically though. But I still like it. |

Fly LIKE An Eagleby SwashbucklerComment: Swash, I'm not seeing the artifacts, or noise that others are seeing. I have had a lot of difficulty with that too. People frequently tell me they see a lot of noise in my pics and they are clear as a bell on my monitor. So frustrating. I've also been criticized for borders. Sighhhhhh....what can we do? Can't please all the peeps all the time.
I like the exposure here. The lighting is just perfect to bring out the texture in the white feathers. The crop works very well. The pose couldn't be better, and you really captured the moment.
This would be very nice hung on a wall. Good job!

Color My World (Chicago) by GraciousComment: I found this colorful slinky in a store and immediately knew I wanted to photograph it. I'm so glad I was able to incorporate it into the "Song" challenge. I was drawing a blank for the challenge. Then as an "aside" I just started shooting my new toy...lol Then I suddenly recalled the first song my hubbie and I danced to at our wedding and BINGO!
About the lighting...I just used natural light from a nearby window, on my porch. I have since used different backgrounds, and positions, and will soon try different lighting.

New Year's Eve Watch Night Serviceby karmatComment: Well...I liked this one right from the first time I saw it. The lighting is very well exposed Karma, and there are no overexposed, blown-out hot spots, yet there is still some detail visible within the shaded area. Very well done!
The background is appropriately black to provide good contrast. The symmetrycal composition works well here.
The only thing that needs work, is the glare near the peak of the roof. Although it couldn't be done for the challenge, it can be easily cloned out.
I like the way you framed the picture with a color from the image.
Nice job Karma. A lovely image! |

Raquel and I had one too many :)by zadoreComment: The idea is cute. I like the way you have it framed/composed. The way the baby is all bundled up, it's believable that she just got in after a night of partying.
I think this picture would fit quite well into the current humor/humour challenge...funny!
The focus on this is soft enough to detract from the overall image. Seeing the face clearly would enhance this.

Knights In White Satinby jmsetzlerComment: John, This is the song my husband and I wanted for our first dance, at our wedding. It was a little complicated for a quartet, so we settled on Color My World, by Chicago. Moody Blues were our favorite group though.
Good image. |
