Pucker Upby hokieComment: The illusion is that this is not a bubble gum bubble but a clear christmas ornament. Simple but I thought elegant. Guess not :-D |

Battered Reflection by hokieComment: I was not sure what the "noise" comment was about. The serrations on the knife have multiple reflections/highlights coming off that might give the impression of noise. the knife was not new...It has lots of use and imperfections which I liked in macro mode becasue it gave it that "I just picked this knife up off the counter after making a ham sandwich to kick your a$$ you stupid beer drinking, WWE watching, homophobic, hard hat wearing pig!"...whew..I think I have issues >:-D |

Battered Reflection by hokieComment: The person in the picture is a friend of ours...she is a make-up artist at the local theatre where they are working on "Rocky Horror Picture Show". I am shooting the stills. |

Sun Dried Pepperby hokieComment: Thanks for the votes. I have a Canon G2 and the widest angle is about 35mm and I shot this at the widest aperature setting in order to get the best depth of field on the dry mud in the distance. I just happened to be walking around near the James River walkway in our downtown section and came across this Dr. Pepper can stuck in the mud. I did move it to get the front of the can for more interesting detail but the can had obviously been there for months from the faded and mud caked appearance. Most of my best shots it seems come from this "Candid, shoot what I find" approach. |
