I have a special interest in this photo, because I was asked to try out your description of how you got this effect in the Gimp. That was so much fun! It came out like magic :). I'm very impressed by this (not that I wouldn't have been before). I also love the composition, and the soft focus and gentle lighting on the hand. I'm giving it 10 - lisae

This is very neat. The composition, soft focus, lovely light background, the scratches on the spoon's surface, and the reflection of the photographer all combine to make this photo appealing and intriguing to me. It's almost a little bit surreal. I don't really know what the spoon is doing there, but it seems to belong :). I feel like giving this 10 - lisae

Wow, I love a lot about this image. The composition and DOF are the most striking elements. It's odd though that it doesn't really appeal to me visually despite these things. I appreciate your vision.

This is beautiful! I'm kind of looking at it and wondering what I would think if I didn't know if was for the pencil challenge. Would it make sense? It would be kind of surreal. As part of the challenge though, it's one of my favourites. 10 - lisae

Awesome! This photo made me laugh :). I'm not sure I like the rotational symmetry, I think if the pencils were at different angles I'd like it more. But the strong lighting and the background are cool :)
