Ash tray seems a bit too dark on the inside, as does the side of the pencil.

Nice shadows through the ash tray, however.

Good concept. Maybe have it smoking or something to intensify the picture.

This is a great photo! I love the highlights in the shadow, as well as in the glass itself, and the bold composition, and the white background. 10 from me - lisae

I really like the shadow of light through the glass and the grubbiness of the inside of the ashtray. I also like the way all edges are contained within the frame, nothing falls out, as it were.

I don't know about pencil addiction. Personally this week I've had enough of pencils. LOL. Great photo though. original idea, and pretty creative. I like how the light shines through the ash tray and makes the glares. sometimes glares work, sometime they don't and you have pulled it off nicely here. I also like how the eraser is gone. Great job and good luck in the challenge.

I like this....I love the reflection/shadow of the glass on the surface and the brightness of the photo. It fills the space well. I think this was a really clever idea and I would have never thought of it. Great Job 9 kdjohnson

Nice idea, I think it would have been better without the bright light source and subsequent shadow.

Nice shadow.

Really Nice work - made me chuckle. Good use of lighting/exposure - good focus - the photo screams of addiction. On my screen, I see a little bit of grey near the pencil and the shadow-just noting-not judging. I like this very much 9

Both the pencil and the pencil shadow seems like it was distorted when you resized. I actually like this and I can visualize it in poster size above the sofa-bed in a studio apartment. There is a litttle bit of gray to the right of the pencil's shadow and the to the right of the pencil and, some smudge or debris on the lower left side that bothers me. The glass and the glass ashtray's shadow are terrific. My first impression was "disgusting." The I took a closer look and found more merits than poor qualities. =7 syamjonimi ;-D

I definitely like the idea, though I don't think the sun reflection really adds to the message of the photo. The picture seems like it should be darker, and maybe more secretive -- as most addictions are... as opposed to bright and sunny.

Hehehe...nice idea!

This is a great idea. I like the shadowing as well. However, woth the end and erasers broken, teeth mark on the pencil itself may have been interesting too. They also would have added texture.

I like the reflection of the glass quite a bit. The pencil shavings create great texture and meat for the photo. I'm curious though: Why the cut off eraser? 8

i would've tried to brighten out the shadow of the ass tray, but maybe u wanted it that way, its a little distracting.
