Fantastic action shot, and a brilliant viewpoint and perspective. The expression on the face of the player is also really good, with his eyes firmly locked on the position of the shuttlecock. Great photo!
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

Lots of water droplet pictues in every challenge it seems these days, hated by some, loved by others. Sometimes with the abundance of such shots it's hard to remember how difficult perfectly executed water drops are. This has an added dimension of the background reflected through the droplet, which I can only imagine to be much more difficult to achieve. Personally, I would have rated it a point higher if the image was fully desaturated, as I find the odd hints of colout here and there to be a distraction rather than adding anything to the image. Nonetheless, a nice shot.

Lots of sunset images in this challenge, but I like the really simplistic approach to the composition in this one. The colours look more natural too as opposed to some of the other shots where the colours have been pushed very far forward. One thing I think letting it down slightly is the apparent tilt on the horizon which I find slightly distracting. Nonetheless, a very nice image.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

Lots and lots of images in this challenge can be grouped, bug macros, sunsets, mountains, lakes, birds, big cats. This shot however stands alone and it really offers something different from the norm. I don't know the technicalities of taking this shot, but I feel that it is let down slightly by a lack of clarity in some areas. Nonetheless, an interesting image.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

There are some very good bug shots in this challege, and this is one of them. I have scored one or two a little higher than this though. There seems to be quite a bit of noise in this image which is stopping me from rating it any higher as it's slightly distracting. However, it's still a really nice shot, with focus in just the right place.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

Underwater pics are hard to pull off, in fact there are a few in this challenge that don't manage it. The title and content really work for this shot however as it really does look like the manta are flying.

I can't begin to think how tough it must be to photograph lightning and get the rest of the short properly exposed. I think I would have scored this higher still if there was some more detail readily available on the water and in the front of the clouds. Nonethless, I love the colour hues and energy in this shot.

This looks like a snail! I love the textures and almost powdery feel of the stone. Nice muted colour palatte but nicely saturated. Perfect focal point and depth of field. Good vision.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

Is it the same location as the Horseshoe bend photos in the challenge from a different angle? Sure looks like it. I really like the alternative perspective, and the title says it all. Great depth of field, and the colours nice and rich. Good shot.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |

There is something about celestial photography that I find awe-inspiring. It has intrigued my since I was very young, reading glossy books that were an Atlas of the skies, with fantastic astronomical images. I don't believe that this is the best celestial image of the challenge (one of my 10's went to the Cone and a Hidden Fox), but nonetheless, it's still an excellent and inspiring image.
Good luck for a strong finish in this challenge. |
