Make Upby TeafranComment: Originally posted by lantaga: Very unique image. Tell us who/what is the model, and how you processed the image. It actually looks like Computer Graphics. |
It's a mannequin - straight out of the camera with just a little bit of curves thrown in to increase contrast. I actually got some off line comments and complaints about it being computer generated. Pretty funny.

In Bloomby FeraltetsuoComment: A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal. A good entry into the challenge. |

Evening Graceby good_hamComment: Impressionist imagery is always appreciated. A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. A demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus and very effective composition. Well done. |

Calvinby phreakComment: A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way as black faced dogs are very difficult to photograph. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image but of less than universal appeal. A good entry into the challenge. |

Saffron Skiesby BalkoComment: Impressionist photographic imagery is always appreciated. A solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success with one minor issue of a light bloom above the building in the upper right. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A slightly less than perfect demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. |

Bee Contentby LydiaComment: A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it is an intersting image and appeals to the viewer in a positive way that is much different from some previous bug/bee images. A good entry into the challenge. |

Sleep Sweetby PhotoDaveComment: An incredible portrait that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way. From an artistic standpoint, it has significant impact being richly colored with excellant detail almost in homage to some of the great clasical artists of the Romantic Period. This image would have worked as a black and white as well. A demonstration of the power of properly controlled light and focus. Well done. |

In the Skyby sepvComment: A good solid image that is crisp, sharp and properly framed and composed - a technical success in every way although the image is a little too tall- it might have been more effective if the image had been cropped right to the edge of the top cloud. The cloud effect against the glass is nearly transparent and that is a huge plus in terms of artistic quality for this reviewer. Well done. |

deadly embraceby rozComment: This is something of a quandry as this is almost an identical image to a blue ribbon winner in a previous specific challenge. It's technically and artistically perfect and an image worthy of a National Geographic photo shoot - the difference between this and the previous image is a very minor change in capture angle. As the image has been validated (an error in this reviewer's opinion) the rules must be followed and appropriate rating of a ten to honor the technical and artistic perfection must be given. Well done. |
