Tools of the trade for wildlife photography; A tripod and a willing model!!by bobonacusComment by HarveyG: My only 10. This is a masterful shot with the seal innocently raising it's head up to ask about the type of lens the photog is using :) The DOF is perfect.
These moments are not contrived and you have to be on the ball to capture them. Excellent expectation and timing Robert. This kind of photography outstrips contrived still life / studio shots as it cannot be (re)created. |

Tonyby bobonacusComment by jomari: It's a nice portrait. Tony's expression is genuinely happy, not a for-the-camera smile. |

_MG_0893by bobonacusComment by hajeka: Nice light! The glitters are giving very nice effect here. Perhaps there's a little too much shadow behind the guy's head. |

Tonyby bobonacusComment by MattO: I would suggest you find a small light/flash meter to help you adjust the strobes. As you note the hairlight/backlight is really bright. But you have captured a good expression for him. |

Tonyby bobonacusComment by roz: you've caught the most excellent happy expression ..
i think to be really good at taking photographs of ppl you have to 'bond' with them in some way and form a connection .. make them feel relaxed and also that they dont have a camera pointed in their face .. make them forget about the camera .. i work on speed ... get them when they dont expect it .. but you obviously dont have to .. !!
brilliant shot .. :)

Tools of the trade for wildlife photography; A tripod and a willing model!!by bobonacusComment by DigiFotoBuddy: Here is my personal scoring scale with 2 points each. The idea behind is to justify the score I gave. You have all right not to agree with it. This is just my personal opinion with whatever little photography knowledge I have. Hope it helps.
