Dinner Guestby bob350Comment by GolferDDS: This is an amazing capture. I have never seen a hummingbird in snow. Are you in the south? I hope the little guy can stay warm:( Hummingbirds use Torpor to regulate body temperature at night. They basically go into a state of hibernation. They can lower their body temperature to the 40's degrees farhenheit. I don't know the ambient temperature they can tolerate before it can be fatal. Maybe you can take him inside to get warm!! |

Three Storiesby bob350Comment by roz: i dont exactly know why this appeals to me so much ..
i spose its the fact that not everything is immediately obvious .. and some things not at all .. loving the high key and contrast .. and the black and white ..
whatever is going on here is so incredibly appealing .. and the more i write the more becomes revealed as i look up at this image .. from a great almost abstract it has actually become emotive .. |

Early Flight by bob350Comment by Lydia: "I like how the blue wing extends up into the brown background while the brown underside of the bird extends into the blue of the pond."
I like this too! Very much!
Well done and... CONGRATULATIONS on your RIBBON!
