Triptychby zeuszenComment by Alpine99: don't see this as a glimpse of the future.. Surely it's a glimpse of the now? |

Triptychby zeuszenComment by timmi: Alternative for right angles?? ... Just kidding :-))) this is actually one of the better and "real" photos in this challenge. I like how the reflection ads a dimension to the whole image. Nice sharpness. A bit dark, but otherwise well done. |

Rush and Recessby zeuszenComment by zeuszen: While I accept anyone's aesthetic preference, the effect you refer to was needed to emphasize the perceived surrealism inherent in the given (prior to camera interference) scene (the overly rich hues, the white chests of the pidgeons in the distance). Without it, this critical element would have been lost.
The photo was taken early in the day, btw.

Rush and Recessby zeuszenComment by kyrielle: I liked this one okay but felt that it could have been stronger, also. The curving lines of the ocean are nice, the placement of the subject is nice. But the bright reflection in the sunglasses suggests it is daylight and the overall darkness of the photo otherwise looks like dusk - and the tones look somewhat out of true. I'd have liked to see this brightened a bit. |

Rush and Recessby zeuszenComment by zeuszen: Evaluating the stats:
I see forty votes in the 1 - 3 range, sixteen of which are 1's. A near equal number of voters awarded a rating between 6 and 10. The discrepancy is not quite clear to me.
Six (6!) voters commented, three of which I marked as 'helpful'. The remaining three comments were not at all helpful, since no reason(s) was (were) given to substantiate the judgements expressed. One was clearly uninformed and a little too personal and derogatory to reflect anything sincere or warrant a response. Message edited by author 2003-07-21 00:46:47. |

Maria Di Capiby zeuszenComment by Journey: i scored this high because i appreciated the hard realism of the shot. I liked the overall darkness but in some places that became a bit of a problem, notably the left thigh. Nor did i particularly care for whatever was on her lower legs ?? But, what i liked a lot of this shot is the aesthetics. Absolutely, yes, aesthetics. I liked the proud look of this woman who says "This is who i am, this is how most real women look. I have gone through the ropes, i have born children, i wear the scars of life". Please give my highest compliments to your model. In fact, she reminds me of many a model during my lifedrawing sessions and it wouldn't surprise me if she is one as she certainly knows how to pose. One of the things i enjoyed about this shot is the proud look on her face.
Well done, zeuszen, and thank you. |

Maria Di Capiby zeuszenComment by wingy: I realize you are going for a stylistic extreme here, but I don't like the result. I don't know why she's wearing sunglasses or those things around the bottom of her legs. They don't seem to fit into the shot very well. The lighting is harsh, and it doesn't seem to create an interesting effect. The framing here is wide, and doesn't seem to function well either. I'm sure all the things I've pointed out you were already aware of and intended to be as they are, so I suppose this won't be very helpful, but at least you know why I didn't like the shot. |
