Day 3: Mountains of saltby johst582Comment by johst582: Originally posted by marttila: Fascinating "landscape". It's amazing how narrow the DOF is even with this aperture. |
Yes, that's the downside of this magnification level - it's almost impossible to get a large DOF. I want a larger DOF! One way would be to replace the photons by electrons... Or, possibly scan the depth of the image with a thin line of light. I know that the old-school scientific macro guru Lennart Nilsson sometimes does this. If you want to get some inspiration for fantastic macro - check out his web site //www.lennartnilsson.com. |

"There is no gray."by johst582Comment by brownsm: Originally posted by johst582: Pardon me, but what does "oobied" mean? |
An Oobie is an informal award given for an entry that is OOB (out of the box, meaning not your typical take on the challenge). this image certainly qualifies for that! well done! |

Day 4: Sunrise over pepper planetby johst582Comment by BeckyT: I really like your creative idea. Try an f22 and more of your tiny planet will be in focus. I agree with the other comments about adding some stars around it. That would be really neat on top of something that is already neat. |
