My house... is in the middle of the street.... My house...by TCGuruComment by Arcanist: Hi Johnna.
This looks like your camera chose to focus on the tree on the left side and that the aperture was set very wide. If you can control the ISO rating on your camera, try moving it up to a higher rating and see if you can force the aperture to a deeper focal length (5-8)...you'll have to be very steady, because the shutter speed will be a lot slower, but your focus area will give you a lot more room to play with. |

Random Sculptures Around Townby TCGuruComment by Arcanist: It kind of looks like it has some really big feet and long legs. So I'd have to say that it's some kind of an abstract person. I wonder what it would be like to shoot from right down close to the ground and looking up to give those legs and feet a really really distorted view... Soft Focusby TCGuruComment by Louis: Isn't that sweet! What fantastic light... I think you've Neat Imaged this one, and it's done perfectly, giving such a lovely sense of softness completely appropriate to this image. Light is just so bang on, shadows are soft, side highlights seem perfect, there's depth and variety.. fantastic job. |

Day-1 The Famous Dayton Courthouseby TCGuruComment by EBJones: History! Is there anything that DPC can't teach you? :)
There's some good advice in earlier comments about the courthouse shot, but I think that I would have just rotated a bit and converted to B&W. |

Black - Whiteby TCGuruComment by alexjack: This is an incredible picture, obviously a tremendous amountof work and thought went into making this, I certainly enjoy it. This again is about symmetry as the central point, the trouble is - there really isn't anyplace to rest your eyes - I keep moving about trying to find a place to focus, but I can't find it. The eyes are critical as others point out, this is the one place where the symmetry is broken, but becasue they aren't focused on the viewer they also don't capture attention. Perhaps another area of symmetry break would have made the difference between a really good shot and a great one - again, all just my opinion. Thanks again for your efforts though, you've definately stretched us all a bit.
