5/7 A Tricky Choice by jonfrommkComment by Charlene: I think the expression seals the deal with this. Nice composition and PP. Hmmm... sour? Let's see... I dunno, maybe a bit more lighting. |

3/7 Coffee...Shudderby jonfrommkComment by carofo: OK - we are total opposites Jon. I LOVE COFFEE and Starbucks probably even more - coffee nirvana to me! So, take heart, I can't be 100% objective in my comments.
What I especially love about your shot is the selective desat - really brings the subject of your hatred into focus (I think you probably hate Starbucks more than the beverage they serve). I think you did a very good job on the desat - can't see where you can spot faults in it. I also love the customer walking out and the one talking on the cell - both give a sense of the hustle & bustle that these places can have (aaaahhhh! sweet memories...).
Sour note: the metal bar on the left. Maybe shooting from the far left would have left it out.
This pic made my day!! That's how much I love coffee!! |

2/7 Zeeba Neighbaby jonfrommkComment by carofo: I love zebras too. They are the "xen animals" of the kingdom. I can't imagine an angry zebra - they seem too friendly.
Sweet: great contrast and pin sharp stripes. I like how the zebra is offset by the green grass.
Sour: I would want to see the entire legs or else, crop further to focus only on the head. |

1/7 OK Fungai..Tell Me A Jokeby jonfrommkComment by carofo: John, I certainly would not eat that one - just the color makes it look poisonous. And not to get too technical here, but I think the only point in common between foot fungus and mushrooms is actually their reproduction mode. In fact, they are not part of the same family. Comparing them on the same level is like comparing humans with other mammals.
In all seriousness, I really like this photo: it is very sharp, the DOF is great and the water droplets give it context. My wish for a perfect world: that the crop wasn't as tight and maybe a different angle.
Very good beginning! Can't wait to see what else you'll shoot our way. |
