OK so here is another confession, I HATE COFFEE! I wish I didn't but I do. What I hate even more than coffee is the fact that people go into places and ask for things like "A skinny mocha expresso grande with Cinnamon and a grapefruit scrub, hold the side salad" and then walk away about $25 poorer clasping something that looks to be 90% froth and 10% tar sludge...What is that all about?

One thing I do love (though which I am not that great at) is desat.

This is the starbucks outside Euston Station in London which I walk past twice a day on my commute too and from the office. I took my camera into work with me today expecting to shoot something quite different, but I kinda like this shot. I would love to know others opinions though....C'mon be honest

I like the selective d sat,the motion blur of the woman is cool, and I LOVE COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pole definately takes away from your shot though.

Jon - You are a scream...I must say that I love coffee but I am not really a fan of Starbucks. Too bright and not enough smoothness in most of the coffee I have tried there.

Cool image...i think the desat works well here (in a side challenge, that is). The left side seems a bit too close cropped (and I mean just a bit). I like the balance of the two people on opposite sides, both holding coffee - with one hanging out and the other rushing away.

Good stuff

OK - we are total opposites Jon. I LOVE COFFEE and Starbucks probably even more - coffee nirvana to me! So, take heart, I can't be 100% objective in my comments.

What I especially love about your shot is the selective desat - really brings the subject of your hatred into focus (I think you probably hate Starbucks more than the beverage they serve). I think you did a very good job on the desat - can't see where you can spot faults in it. I also love the customer walking out and the one talking on the cell - both give a sense of the hustle & bustle that these places can have (aaaahhhh! sweet memories...).
Sour note: the metal bar on the left. Maybe shooting from the far left would have left it out.

This pic made my day!! That's how much I love coffee!!

I love coffee! And your picture. The desat looks good, the bit of green adds interest as does the movement of the person on my right. I'm thinking a different angle may have eliminated the pole on the left.

Looks like an ad shoot LOL
I guess I might burn the edges and take some distractions out.

Your silliness makes me laugh. Coffee is yummmmmmy (well, if you make it right, of course)!

Great desat subject, I love the slightly blurred people on either side. I wonder how it would look (might be a bit much) if the circular Starbucks sign (on the right lower corner) were also in color. (I love the bright green, too!)
