I was out for a walk today and I met a couple walking their Lurcher/Wolf Hound cross breed dogs. They were tell me about how old the dogs were and I asked if I could take a few shots. In this one the owner of the dog had just been praising him to me and the creature looked up at him. To me the animal knew it was being praised and it was loved and the look on his face showed the love he felt fact

love that you can see the details on the nose - i usually do something wrong and lose the quality there. you captured a very sweet face here!

The sharpness really brings out the subtle details and tones on the dog.

What a beautiful pose! And a beautiful animal! The processing is wonderful. You are so good to have captured that exact moment when you're right: the look of pride and love on his face for being praised is unmistakable. This is a great capture!

A remarkable shot! To me it shows the complete and utter trust that dogs have for their owners - for people in general if they've been treated well. Excellent detail, and a shot that works very well as B&W. I think that a color version would lose the intensity of feeling that this conveys.

You are right, you can see the love in his posture and eyes. The texture of the fur is amazing in this shot. The only thing I would change is to crop a bit to get rid of some of the extra grass up top. However, that is a small piece of an amazingly detailed and beautiful shot.

we have a couple of dogs and i thank god for their precious company .. i feel grateful nearly every day for the gut wrenching laughter they inspire!!! but also the give and take of love ... we have a miniature foxy who's 4yrs old and a bull terrior who's 14 ...

Bit sharp imo. Like the BW processing and I like the pose. Might get more bang for your buck cropping so his face is catering to the rule of thirds, but not bad overall.

Very nice pose, great detail, very sharp. Maybe too sharp in the background?
