P3023714 - SOOC comparison 1000pxlsby rozComment by GinaRothfels: I agree that Canon's picture styles produce rather undramatic results, but that's what I'm working with for this side challenge, mainly because my Olympus doesn't have wifi and I often don't have time to submit from my computer.
However when I shoot with my Olympus (OM-D E-M5) I generally use ART5 (raw + jpg). Unfortunately ART5 often loses a bit too much detail, so lately I'm been taking the raws into Nik Sil-Efex to try to produce a more detailed version of what ART5 saw.
I like b&w for this shot, but agree with JuliBoc that you could do a better conversion than your camera did. |

mollyby rozComment by streetpigeon: This fine portrait, with Molly's amazing eyes tight to the top, is powerful in its intensity. I feel that she's trying to hypnotize me. Yes, your worship, tuna and mice, right away. Whoo, got to shake out of her dominion. I love the detail. My favorite touch is the sparkle along the edge of her tongue. |

the tongueby rozComment by digifotojo: Yes, the tongue is brush-like and that's how cats groom themselves. Also if a cat licks you it feels really weird, tends to give you goosebumps. lol
I like both images, this reminds me of a diagram in a medical book where there's a blow-up to emphasize detail. Cats are very independent and intelligent creatures. I'm glad to see you're exploring the world of felines. |

the tongueby rozComment by pmichaud: This is an amazing image. I have to tell you, that because of this, my cat Bonzai is not speaking to me at the moment. I have been trying to check his tongue to see if he has tongue spikes too, and he apparently believes that I have been overly intrusive. He is extremely offended. I'm sure he will come around and I will just have to try to catch him grooming his fur to further my research.
I am so sorry about your camera. How frustrating!! |
