The tilt is a little strange -- I'd almost prefer either a vertical door or more tilt.

This is very nice. You handled the variable lighting quite well and the details are sharp where they need to be. Only complaint from me is it would be a tad nicer to see this rotated left 1 or 2 degrees to straighten out the entranceways. Just a thought. Best of luck to you in the challenge.

The background doesn't look like this Macaw is in the wild. Could be wrong though. The lighting also looks artificial

A good crisply focussed portrait, with an interseting pose, but let down slightly by the background. I would have liked to have seen a little more of the macaw's environs in order to give context to the photo.
