The Limits of Perceptionby levyj413Comment by magenmarie: I was going to guess a tunnel, but that almost seems too obvious? I can't wait to find out what it is. The blur works very nicely here. It's adding to the mystery of not knowing what it is! |

The Limits of Perceptionby levyj413Comment by bob350: Maybe it is near the top of an escalator, perhaps with a round window facing a brick wall or pink flowers. Hmmm, I don't think thousands of people look inside their partly transparent vacuum cleaner hose every day.
Whatever it is, the image is effective. For some of the blurred images in this side challenge, the only thing making the picture different from any other out of focus shot is the title or story. For many others, the image works with no explanation. In this case, the sharpness of the circle at the end of the leading lines attracts the eye as the starting and ending point for exploring the rest. I think the pink in the upper part addes interest and gives the impression of diffusion of light coming through the pink circle. |

Moon Over Jeffersonby levyj413Comment by heavyj: You gotta PM me with how you are able to get that moon in focus with detail. All I ever get is chunks of light that turn out to look like nothing. I want the detail that you have here. 7 |

The Limits of Perceptionby levyj413Comment by xianart: it's that funky subway in washington, with the train coming, isn't it? i only know it from pics, but that's what i think, anyway. nice image, but i'm not mad on the pink tinge in the upper part of it. |

Moon Over Jeffersonby levyj413Comment by rjhawkin: I wonder if this is Levy's picture, ha ha, I can see why people wondered. My Guess this could be a long time Exposure shot you could have shot one, switched to a different zoom setting and uncovered the lens. Just like the shot of the Jefferson and two Washington Memorials that was talked about in a tutorial.
Heck if atmospherics are just right you can get this effect close to the horizon. without any camera games! |
