Critique Club Review:

Tough challenge, and a tough piece to critique. To my eye, the effects observed were obvious goals, as opposed to accidental creations. Which reading your comments reinforces. I really like the colors and patterns of the sky.

The green of the vegetation, and the focus/pattern used there is not very complimentary. Nor does it seem to contrast quite enough. To me it sets up more of a contest, distraction, and confusion. I think either one would have been a good basis for the start of such a piece, but do not work quite so well together.

I would love to see more sky and cloud patterns, or more of the green against a different background. Or even a lighter green, more smeary (is that a word?) to compliment the watery flowing look of the clouds.

Over all the exposure, color rendition, saturation, contrast, exposure and hue are well done.

Got the shock value atmosphere of this movie perfectly. This is one of the most disturbing (memorable)scenes in cinema, but I seem to remember it was a straight (cut throat) razor was used, not curved as you shot. 10 out of 10 for bravery to try this yourself. This photo did not receive the credit it deserves in this competition IMHO. Excellent reconstruction!

Cool shot! Great shadows and movement. Just the right amount of focus where it counts too. Well done.

aww..
I wasn't too sure about the picture when it started opening up with the page. The hair seemed too unfocused and blurry but the complete pictures deletes my first impression. The spot on focus in the eyes completely take you in.

I didn't comment on this one during the challenge but it is indeed one that stayed with me. I looked at it more than once and for quite some time each viewing. I'm not as eloquent as posthumous or dahkota or e301 (there's a comment to treasure!) so I can't put into words what it is that draws me to this - just that it does. Congratulations on a wonderful photograph!

Nice...the guy stands out well. I wouldnt crop of his feet but instead the other person swimming, its bit distracting from concentration of main object.
