It looks like the picture was over exposed on the cheek, then toned down in post process which to me makes the cheek look wet and a little odd. I'd maybe have stuck with the first version.

Clean image. The black in the background really forces the focus and keeps our mind on what it should be. Very nice. The pen keeps the image from being dull, too. I like it :-D
