Photography wise I think this is one of if not my favourite of yours from this challenge. Perfect DOF for the shot and the textures are outstanding, you really feel like you could reach out and touch the (remains) of the jumper

Great colours as well. Lovely all round

It's really pretty yarn, though I would bet that once you throw it out, you would not miss it for a minute. In any case - I love your story and the photo is cool with the beautiful colors and textures.

Very cool shot! The color is really pretty, I like the lighting, the diagonally running cables and the placement of the newly forming ball next to the unraveled bit of sweater! Great story too :-)

I will admit to hanging on to things too, every now & then I just have to throw a bunch of it out for lack of room. I love the blurriness in the back of the photo, it really brings clarity to the front.
P.S. Good idea on the dish towels.

I've heard of PTI, but that's a show... I don't know PIT. But I got a good laugh at everyone's reflection in that shiny bell! Great image! And I hope you feel better.
