I think the picture pretty much says it all.

This was taken on my front porch at around 4:45 pm today. At 12 percent humidity, you can feel your skin parching. Fuel temperatures are in the 120s, which means a stray breeze and a wayward cigarette could team up to set the whole countryside on fire at any moment. Fun fun fun. I miss winter.

I can neither confirm nor deny the report that I bought a thermometer today with this shot in mind.

I was going to say I'd change places with you, but that's just a bit too hot. I hate winter, but fortunately our summers never get quite that hot.

I HATE YOU!!!!

It has been another miserable wet 'summers' day here in England...If you can please could you send at least 10 degrees over to us

Really simple image but it has been executed so well it becomes a thing of beauty.

Really like the border as well

Haha undoubtedly you DID buy the thermometer (come on the first step to a cure is admitting you have an addiction)

Thank God we don't see those types of temps around here, or if we do it's not very often! YUCK!!

I feel for ya', we're in pretty much the same boat in NM! What an amazing coincidence that you purchased a very photogenic thermometer when you weren't even thinking about photographing it... :-) Love the image, it speaks for itself!

wonderful - I grew in AZ, nothing like a "dry" heat to warm things up:)

omg .. thats HOT ... its a great graphic shot, excellent focus and composition .. thats me doing the critique!!! .. lol ..
its great that you've got fahrenheit and celsius on the same thermometer ... we were getting 40 degree temps in the summer just gone .. we are now in winter here in australia ... we're having pretty comfortable temps for winter tho .. today is 15 ... we talk in celsius in australia, so its not below freezing!!..

Ugh! Although, it got to 92 degrees here and 79% humidity :( I loved seeing this though! I would never have thought to do it myself. But with it being early July, I feel your pain, and love the humor!

Well done getting a thermometer with Centigrade as well. When it gets hot here in Japan, it's always pretty humid.

Oh that is horrible. And headed our way.... bleah... lol about whether or not you bought the thermometer for this. Of course you didn't buy it... that would be admitting an obsession for photography or something.
