Comment by Rebecca:
This is a good concept, but I can see why it didn't score higher, where others are a little more incredulous. There is nothing wrong with the technical aspects of the photo, exactly, it's more a matter of props and makeup. Here goes:

The typical horror movie victim is a young, unmarried girl/woman. Film studies people will even tell you that most horror movie murder victims tend to be a bit slutty and that they're essentially being punished for their sexuality. The best example of this trend is the original "Halloween", where good girl Jamie Lee Curtis outlives all her slutty friends. Based on this near-universal film type, here's a couple notes:

(1) Take the rings off the model, especially the wedding ring.

(2) Tone down the lipstick - simply too bright. Maybe even go with a bluish tone to really show that she's dead. Adjust the hue very slightly toward the blue end to give her skin an ashen look.

(3) The smeared mascara under her eyes ages her quite a bit, and remember, you want to give the impression of the hot young murder victim. I think she'd be better off without any mascara. Since this challenge had advanced editing rules, you could always burn the lashes and brows a little for emphasis if necessary.

Overall, I think giving her a more innocent and dead look would make this vastly more disturbing.

I'm floored this didn't score higher. I figured this for top 10 or 20 at least. Haunting image - very well done.
