Ataahuaby joynimComment by BeckyT: I felt the same way when I first started using my new DSLR. I find that if I manual focus I can get it a little crisper. Also, in photoshop or some editing tool you can unsharp mask and that seems to work pretty good. Sorry for the late response. I just stumbled on your photo and noticed you had the same camera. |

Overlay-day-8.jpgby joynimComment by ErinM: Ha. The more macabre connotation hadn't occured to me either, Charlie...maybe because I read your comments and knew that these were your daughter's legs. I think that my initial reaction was that the image looked rather mysterious. I'm not sure how you could process it to look more like a young girl at the gym, but you might try a different orientation. If you flipped it either 90 or 180 degrees it would still retain some mystery, but wouldn't be interpreted as a hanging. :/ Or just keep it as is and let everyone interpret it as they will. |

Overlay-day-8.jpgby joynimComment by roz: yeah charlie .. i've just read wot you wrote in the thread .. i opened this last night but didnt comment coz i didnt know wot to say !!!!! .. it brought to mind someone hanging and not from the gym bars !! .. i didnt want to offend you so i said nothing ..
this image evoked a sort'v disturbing feeling in that the legs look like they belong to a child and yet it looks as if she's being hung .. the background just intensifies the feeling .. makes me think of those dreadful times when they'd burn the 'witches' .. times of terrible ignorance .. every time we live in has terrible ignorance, but different ... but wotever .. :) ..
anyway .. i think in answer to your question as to how to make it look like she's more at a gym than actually being hung .. i'v got no idea except maybe to overlay another photograph of her at the gym where you can see her in action so it links it up with this one .. ?? .. i'm sure other ppl would have better ideas tho .. :)x |

Overlay-day-8.jpgby joynimComment by Jutilda: Terrific. I think the more you layer sometimes, the better it gets - and this is a perfect example. When you have lots of neg. space, the textures can really bring depth to the shot. This is REALLY fabulous. |
