Mill Mountain Starby SJCarterComment by yanko: Some spunky colors going on there. Nice composition. The lines are a little too pixelated at this size. Did you try using bicubic sharper or smoother when downsizing it? |

Blue Ridge Sunsetby SJCarterComment by yanko: Really nice. It conveys silence pretty well. I kinda agree with thndrdrag about it doing well in that challenge. There is a sunset there but it's not front and center (i.e not really a subject) and the hills/mountains are framed in just a way where they too are not really the subject. |

Dustyby SJCarterComment by yanko: Excellent. Just enough sharpness and DOF. Have you tried rotating this around to see how it looks? The way I read this is top down which for me is a bit unorthodox. It doesn't hurt the image just different. |

Mill Mountain Starby SJCarterComment by mpeters: This could be an overly 'busy' photo but it works with the colors of the sky and the sihlohetted star. Much stronger image IMO than if the star had been lit. The symetry is perfect, just clone that small guy wire on the RH border of the pic. I like the way that the pink cloud frames the shape of the star. Good work! |

Corn Silkby SJCarterComment by mpeters: You're the king of creative processing. The way you processed the flower and BG make the flower an important part of the pic, but the Butterfly takes center stage. I might prefer a touch of the same red/gold tones in the BG but, ???? HOw do you get them to hold still? Superglue?? ;) |

Sun Burstby SJCarterComment by bs-photos: I really like this one, out of the couple you posted together this one caught my eye first. The way the butterfly almost blends in with the flower is a really nice look. Also captured alot of detail in the head & upper part of the butterfly & the petals of the flower, would've been nice to have the whole thing in focus but I could imagine rather hard to accomplish.
Overall, nice colors & composition :) |

Monarchby SJCarterComment by UNTITLED: Yes, this composition is very cool. The way the whole thing separates from the background is awesome. Too bad you couldn't of zapped that butterfly with a growth ray, so he could of been a slightly larger element in the photo. Another great photo! Message edited by author 2006-08-28 12:53:14. |

Mill Mountain Starby SJCarterComment by UNTITLED: Beautiful sky colors, the really set off what could of been a very busy subject. I'd say you handled the busy part really well and created a great photo. I imagine a printed version looks even better where you're not having to deal with the aliasing issues from all those straight lines. Message edited by author 2006-08-28 12:35:43. |
