Springing Fourth From the Riverby DougPazComment by inspzil: Good colors of the tree. The river looks a little yucky in the color department tho I really like the reflections. Too bad the sky is so overcast. A little more of a clear dusk would've helped a lot. |

Springing Fourth From the Riverby DougPazComment by HBunch: definately a naturally occuring number. the background isn't overly exciting, however you have done a good job with it. the focus and clarity are good, angle and framing/cropping are also good. the only thing I find a tad distracting is that the main horizon line is angled. I realize that if you straightened that up, then the water line would be tilted. so I'm not really sure if there is much you can do about it, so it's just an observation rather than a suggestion. good luck in the challenge. |

Scrambled Egg, Coming Up!by DougPazComment by Silver Fox: Critiqued by Silver Fox
Sure hope it's Hard Boiled :}
Great Shot Doug! My first thought was "Wow, really nice!"
Composition is really nice, and I like the greens, browns, yellows of the grass that you've been able to capture on the ground. It's a nice sharp photo and the focus is great.
I wonder if you could have shot it a bit lower though, and by doing so, you could have avoided the shadow of the egg on the golf club? There is also a bit of a bluish/purple tone on the egg and the golf club, what's that from? By shooting lower, could it have been avoided?
You met the challenge with your photo and I felt you had some Wow with this photo, surprised it came in so low, even if you were in the rough! |

Clash of the Titansby DougPazComment by tcherring: CRITIQUE CLUB
Challenge: Meets the challenge very well. Really draws the eye up. I might suggest tighter cropping at the top, as your eyes keep going to the sky instead of "resting" on the titans.
Technique: Great angle, may want to consider getting down even lower for a dramatic effect. The black and white works well for this as it emphasizes the age. There is a little noise here, but nothing that detracts from the image.
Overall: I think a tight top crop and fixing the noise would make this an EXCELLENT photo! |
