I think she has that spot on for me too. The textures in the background just dont seem to be the right compliment. But the textures, detail and shadows on the thingee you caught very well.

This is a pure Melethia shot. Simple but well thought out composition. You have a great eye for natural lines and patterns found in the everyday world. I wouldnt do anythign to the editing. Nice colors, cool shadows, perfect crop (did you crop at all?). I am not sure if I am digging the inner border color or the off whiteness to the rest of the border, but I only mention it since you asked for editing tips. It is a minor point at best and probably just my personal taste.
